Amy, Sam, Bongo, and Olli the Zyk travel back in time to battle the evil Dreeds...but will they succeed?

 

One blustery night, a tiny creature visits eleven year old Amy in the wee hours. Olli the Zyk sweeps Amy, her brother Sam, and Bongo the dog on a journey to Renaissance Italy in a quest to reunite his people, who may not survive much longer.  From medieval Siena, through the hills of Tuscany, to the Duomo in Florence, the Colosseum in Rome, and a masquerade ball in Venice, they travel to save Alana and the Zyks.

 

But their journey is perilous at every turn.  Along the way, they encounter characters from Renaissance history, but who is friend and who is foe?  It is not long until they discover they are being followed and are warned not to continue their search.  Will they find the powerful Pebble-Velje before Makkum the Dreed?  Can they decipher the map and riddle in time?  Or will Olli’s weakening powers strand Amy, Sam, and Bongo in 1496?  Will our intrepid travelers never return home?
